Josh Young

Managing Director, Principal

Josh is a Managing Director and Principal at Robertson Stephens. He works closely with his clients to build trust and deliver comprehensive investment and wealth management solutions. Josh has deep experience helping high-net-worth families/individuals, corporate executives, and charitable foundations navigate every corner of wealth preservation and growth.

Before joining Robertson Stephens, Josh was a Managing Director with BakerAvenue Wealth Management.  He began his career in financial services with JP Morgan Chase in 2007 before joining UBS Wealth Management in 2009, where he completed their ‘Advisor Training Program’ and earned the CFP credentials.  Josh has been advising a select group of private clients on a wide range of wealth management issues, including risk allocation strategies, financial planning, tax strategy, and generational wealth transfer for the last 16 years.

Josh has previously served on the boards of Camp Beech Cliff in Mount Desert Island (Maine), Trout Unlimited (National Capital Chapter), and the Blaine County School District Finance Committee. He is an active supporter of conservation groups focused on protecting wildlife and natural resources across the country.

Josh earned a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado and completed his CFP certification at Boston University. Josh and his wife Eliza live in the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoy spending time outside with their three daughters, Zoe, Ellie, and Isla. Josh is an avid fly-fisherman and can often be found on the rivers of the Mountain West in pursuit of wild trout.
