Avi Deutsch

Managing Director, Principal

Avi Deutsch is a Managing Director and Principal at Robertson Stephens in the New York City office where he advises on portfolio management, comprehensive wealth planning, and social impact investing. Avi especially enjoys working with business owners, executives with equity-based compensation, and people who appreciate clear communication, empathetic guidance, and intentional decision-making.

Before joining Robertson Stephens, Avi was a principal at Vodia Capital, a boutique wealth management firm, where he helped triple the firm’s assets under management. He also served as Managing Partner at Vodia Ventures, a family of venture funds investing in companies addressing social and environmental challenges. Earlier in his career, Avi worked in the social impact sector—co-founding a community of Jewish impact investors and working with at-risk youth in Rwanda. He grew up in Israel and served as an armor officer in the Israel Defense Forces.

Avi graduated magna cum laude from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a degree in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics (PPE), and earned his MBA from the Wharton School, where he was recognized as a Palmer Scholar. He lives in Brooklyn, enjoys cooking and hosting dinner parties, and frequently escapes the city to trail run or climb mountains.
